Butts County Community Center
The Community Center is a 33,200 sq. ft. building housing the Ernest Biles Youth Center and the Offices of the Parks & Recreation Department, double gymnasiums and three meeting/activity rooms. These gyms & rooms, when not scheduled for organized activities, are available to the public for rental.
Bob Ryan Softball Complex
Complex has four fields, fenced & lighted, 300 ft. outfield fencing, scoreboards, covered dugouts & covered spectator seating. Central press box/ concession/ restrooms building.Sand/clay infields w/ Bermuda grassed outfields. A batting cage is located within the Complex.
Buster Duke Baseball Complex
Complex has seven (7) baseball fields, which are also used, as soccer fields during the fall. Fields include one t-ball field (100ft. fences), three mite league fields (175 ft fences), two midget fields (200ft fences) and one regulation field (275 ft fences). All fields except the t-ball fields are lighted. All fields have covered dugouts and spectator seating. Two centralized press box/concession buildings, two restroom facilities and a batting cage are located within the Complex.
Charlie Brown Football Field and Track
This Complex contains a regulation football field encircled by a quarter mile asphalt track. A press box/concession building and restroom facilities are located at the field.
The Ernest Biles Youth Center houses double gymnasiums. Gym “A” houses our youth basketball program as well as Freeplay basketball. Gym “B” houses our Tumbling and Cheer program. These gyms when not scheduled for organized activities, are available to the public for rental.
There are four (4) regulation “hard court” (asphalt) courts surrounded by 12 ft. fencing. Courts are NOT lighted. Courts are kept locked. Citizens wishing to use courts may join our Tennis Club and be issued a key to the courts. Amenities include water fountain and benches. The courts are joint-use facilities with the Board of Education and are reserved for the school tennis teams during certain times of the year.
Playground, Pavilion, Picnic Area
The 6800 sq. ft. playground area includes toddler and 6-12 yr old play apparatus. The playground is fenced and has four-inch layer of cypress mulch as safety surfacing. The playground is a day-use only area. A small covered pavilion, approx. 240 sq. ft., shelters two concrete picnic tables. There are four open area picnic tables adjacent to the pavilion. There are no grills provided. Open campfires are not permitted. The pavilion & picnic tables are available only on a first come first served basis.
Skate Park – (CLOSED)
Our skateboard Park consist of a two 4′X4′quarterpipe ramps w/ coping; two, joined, 2′X4′ wedges; two 3′X4′ platform wedges and two 8′ grind rails. Users of the park must have parental waivers of liability on file with the Department before they can use the skate park. Helmets & elbow pads are also required. Those wishing to use the skate park should call a day in advance for reservations.
Many individuals enjoy Daughtry Park facilities for exercise. The 1/4-mile track is a favorite of walkers and roller bladers. The double gymnasiums are used in the mornings, especially by senior citizens. One lap around both gym floors equals 1/8 mile. Sidewalks & paved service roads have also been measured and distances noted so that exercisers may keep track of their efforts.
