phrMLB Pitch, Hit & RunThe Local MLB Pitch, Hit & Run Competition is scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Buster Duke Baseball Complex on Field A. The competition is FREE an open to all boys and girls ages    7 – 14. Competitors will compete by age group on the most accurate pitch, longest hit and fastest run. Regsitration will be accepted at the field beginning at 12:30pm. Competition will begin at 1:00pm. For more information on the MLB Pitch, Hit & Run, contact Kenny Sims at or at 770-775-8228.





4th of July – Each year Daughtry Park is host to the Community 4th of July Celebration. Activities include: Special music, watermelon eating contest, water balloon toss, egg toss, sack races, dunking booth, moon walk, giant slide and a spectacular fire works display. Parades – Each year, the Department of Leisure Servives organizes the annual Youth Parade.  This is a parade made up of fall sports youth participants and coaches.  Also participating in this parade is the Jackson High School marching band, Local Girl Scout Troups, Local Boy Scout Troups, etc. Youth Softball Tournaments held at the Bob Ryan Softball Complex – TBA. Annual Meeting and Hall Of Fame Banquet – Each year we recognize and honor our volunteers through a Annual Meeting and Hall of Fame Banquet. Each volunteer is recognized as well as sponsors. We also induct people who have made lasting contributions to Parks & Recreation into the Hall of Fame. The banquet is held in March each year.
